Faridabad: Carrying forward the belief, that learning takes place outside the classrooms as well, D.A.V. Public School, NH-3, NIT Faridabad organized an inter house Volley Ball Tournament for boys and Throw Ball tournament for girls in the school premises on 26th April and 27th April 2016. The initiative was taken to instill values like healthy competition, rivalry and loyalty among the young budding champions.
The school principal- Mrs. Jyoti dahiya along with the chief guests of the day – Mr. Bhardwaj- District Sports Officer Faridabad, Mr. Chaterjee- Archery Coach and Mr. Raj Kumar- District Cricket Coach, personally wished all the players good luck. First day the audience witnessed the middle wing (VI-VIII) matches, where boy’s team of Virjanand House excelled all other house teams in volleyball tournament and girl’s team of Hansraj House outshined their contending houses.
On the second day the inter house matches for the secondary wing (IX-X) took place. The day was witnessed by the Honorable chief guest S.K. Dalal, retired Air Force officer, presently, lecturer at government senior secondary school, Old Faridabad and Basket Ball referee at national level.
The finale of volleyball being a three-game nail biting final between Virjanand and shraddhanand, finally Virjanand taking the title away. On the other hand, girl power surged through the throw ball event, the game ended with girl’s team of Dayanand house emerging victorious. Both the days, crowd watched the game in rapt attention and anticipation as well as motivated the players with thunderous applause and cheering. Finally, the School Principal took the opportunity to thank all those who participated and volunteered in making the ceremony a success.
