MAGMA join hands with PCRA to care of truck drivers

Faridabad/ Alive News: Doing well for the society may be in many forms. Understanding the problems of others and finding solutions for it could be a good work in the service of society. For example, truck drivers are usually found driving continuously for days taking short breaks on the route to distant places. Worst situation occur with them, when they have to relieve themselves on the roadside or in the fields at the roadside. Even at the night halt they are not sure of getting the hygienic facilities of toilets.
Understanding this problem to a great extent one of the leading non-banking Financial Companies (NBFC), Magma Fincorp Ltd., joining hands with Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), has installed an e-toilet at the Transport Nagar, located at sector-58 Faridabad.

Magma Fincorp and PCRA celebrated the Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight in Faridabad. Magma Fincorp and PCRA had joined hands a year back to train truck drivers through regular bi-monthly training workshops on improving driving habits for better mileage and fuel conservation. Besides, other activities Certification and installation of E-toilets to improve the hygiene sanitation facility and help to cleanse the area has also been initiated. Under the program, Magma and PCRA have so far trained over 19,000 Truckers in 11 Transport Nagars across the country.

In the meantime, Mr. Nilkanth S. Avhad, IAS, Executive Director, PCRA. And Mr. Sachin Khandelwal, Chief Sales Officer, Magma Fincorp Ltd. graced the occasion to commemorate the ongoing Oil and Gas conservation Fortnight.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, Mr. Nilkanth S. Avhad, Executive Director, PCRA, said “Oil conservation fortnight is very important activity in order to raise the awareness about saving petroleum products among people. Petroleum products are used in the industries and vehicles release various pollutants and emissions which affects our living environment. As such PCRA gives high priority to the transport sector, which includes Driver Training Program, Model Depot Projects, and mass awareness program.

“Joining hands with PCRA was one key CSR initiative which Magma has taken towards the well being of this community, which is often neglected, in spite of them helping us to reach out to most of our basic requirement on time through long driving hours with inadequate rest or access to any hygienic facilities. We would like to take this fortnight as yet another opportunity to pledge in saving the environment with our continuous association with PCRA and training as many drivers and fleet owners on saving fuel to reduce pollution. Saving fuel can also be termed as increased income from an economic angle and we are delighted that a lot of trained drivers are finding these tips actually giving them monthly savings, besides improved emission levels,” said Mr. Sachin Khandelwal, Chief Sales Officer, Magma Fincorp Ltd.
