The administration has got back its ‘Voting Tau’, the election mascot, to appeal to people to avail benefit of the special drive.
The ‘Voting Taus’ are going around in colleges, shopping malls, metro stations and various corporate areas to tell people about the special campaign and urging them to pay attention to their electoral rights and duties.
RS Sangwan, Deputy Director (NCR), Gurgaon, said: ”The Voting Taus were touring various places in Gurgaon as they did during last Parliament elections in 2014 and they are telling people that a special one-day campaign is being organised on Sunday when they should check their particulars in the voters list and EPIC and if need be, they should get the mistake in name or address rectified by filling Form 7 or 8 as the case may be. The youngsters who have attained the age of 18 years on January 1, 2016 can also get themselves registered as voters by filling Form 6 which will be available free of cost at their nearest polling booth.”
